Latest Suspect In McDonald’s Beating Arraigned On Robbery, Assault Charges

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The latest suspect to be arrested in the brutal McDonald’s fight caught on camera in Brooklyn, faced a judge early Sunday.

Mercedes Wilkinson, 16, surrendered Saturday after police spent days looking for her, CBS2’s Ilana Gold reported.

She is charged with robbery and gang assault. Bail was set at $50,000.

Four other suspects are also in police custody, and one other is at large. Police said the girls are members of a gang called “The Young Savages,” CBS2’s Matt Kozar reported.

The fight broke out at a McDonald’s in Flatbush on Monday afternoon.

The video shows a group attacking a 15-year-old girl dressed in blue while dozens of spectators cheer. Some could even be seen climbing onto table tops to get a better look as six to seven girls pummeled and kicked the victim.
